Abstract:
The air quality within the submarine cabin is one of the major indicators in ensuring the normal operation of submarines. As a new photocatalysis, extensive attentions has been paid to nano TiO
2 due to its effective and high degradation efficiency as well as its potential applications in environmental pollution treatment. With the continuous modification and improvement in recent years, the photocatalytic performance of nano TiO
2 has been greatly enhanced, with its practical applications being promoted and developed as well. As a result, the air quality control via nano TiO
2 photocatalysis in submarine cabins has become one of the most important research subjects. In this paper, according to the analysis on the compositions of hazardous gases and their damage to submarines, an overview of the recent development and feasibility of nano TiO
2 on degrading organic pollution, anti-bacteria, and deodorization is presented, and its applications in degrading Volatile Organic Compounds(VOCs) as well as in air purification multi-technology is explored. In addition, the technical solutions regarding the immobilization and low photocatalytic efficiency problems of nano TiO
2 are proposed during practical applications. In brief, this paper provides useful suggestions and guidance for further nano TiO
2 application in controlling air quality within submarine cabins.
