Objectives In order to study the effect of water content on the viscosity and wettability of lubricating oil under oil-water mixed lubrication state,
Methods different proportions of oil-water mixture was configured to simulate the lubrication medium under harsh conditions, and the viscosity and contact angle of the mixture under different water contents were contained by taking the average value of the results of multiple tests with the help of accurate test instruments.
Results The results show that the viscosity of the lubricating oil increases first with the increase of the water content, reaches the maximum when the water content is about 30%, and then decreases rapidly and gradually stabilizes; for lipophilic friction surfaces, a certain degree of oil-water mixing helps to improve the wettability of the lubricating oil.
Conclusions The study in this paper has certain guiding significance for the reliability design of the ship lubrication system.
