Model test study on the extrusion action between plate frame structure and ice

  • Abstract: In order to study the structural deformation and damage failure mechanism of typical hull plate frame structure under ice load , In this paper, the repeated extrusion and collision test of steel hull plate frame and ice body is carried out, and multiple sets of test conditions are designed, and the influence of factors such as plate thickness, stiffeners and defects on the test results is considered. The results show that the influence of plate thickness on the structural response plays a leading role, and the stiffeners can effectively improve the anti-ice extrusion strength of the plate frame structure, and the anti-extension effect on the defects is related to the form of stiffeners. When the defect position of the damaged plate frame coincides with the ice load area, the defect extension phenomenon will happen, and under this condition the structure is more dangerous; After the plate frame structure with lower structural strength completes the first loading, the strength exhibited by the plate frame structure with lower structural strength will exceed that of the plate with higher structural strength during the second loading. The research work in this paper can provide a reference for the design and evaluation of the ice-resistant strength of polar ship structures.
