Rapidity Test for New Hull Form of Motor Barge in the Chishui River

A research and design work of new hull form running in the Chishui River was done according to the research program. Rapidity test of new hull form was performed, and a motor barge available in the Chishui River was studied as contrastive vessel. The experimental results showed that the performance was superior to the contrastive vessel either in the resistance or in the propulsion. The designed speed of the new hull form of vessel, running at same power of main engine, was faster than that of the contrastive vessel.
