Modal Analysis of Vibrations in Multi-span Liquid-filled Piping Systems

Abstract
The transfer matrix method for the modal analysis of the beam-like liquid-filled pipe system was presented. The field transfer matrices of the axial and transverse vibration and the point transfer matrix of the rigid supports were derived with considering Poisson coupling and junction coupling. By the method, the nature frequency and mode of the systems under two different boundary conditions were calculated. The results show that the coupling between the liquid and the structure may result in large change in the nature frequencies.
