Abstract
Based on the coupled acoustic-vibration feature for underwater structures, the correlation between vibration and sound radiation for a box structure is investigated. In calculating the acousticvibration response of the box, the FEM and BEM are used. FEM is used to obtain the vibration response due to the coupled fluid-solid interaction. Based on FEM results, BEM is used to obtain the sound radiation by solving the Helmholtz equa tion. Through the computing results, the correlation between several typical locations and the exciting location is established and some comments are made. In the end, the conclusions are drawn that the correlation bet ween vibration and sound radiation is strong except near the exciting location.
