Abstract
The ship maneuverability is synthetically evaluated in this paper with the entropy weight method combined with vague value method. Particularly,an integrated evaluation index system for ship maneuverability is established, the basic principle and procedure of this system is illustrated, and the proposed method is successfully validated by a comparison with two conventional evaluation approaches. The method mainly targets at two-rudder and self-propelled ship models whose rudder spacing is adjustable, and the synthetic weight, vague value and scoring function are calculated with different rudder spacing, respectively. The research shows that this method provides better sorted results than K′ ,T ′ and P′ do,and the subjective or objective weight is coupled to the synthetic weight so that the shortcomings of single weight input can be overcome. Generally,as the ship maneuverability evaluation is shifting from unilateral evaluation to synthesized evaluation, the proposed method is not only theoretically valid but also practically superior than conventional evaluation approaches.
