Abstract
Considering the requirement of spatial electromagnetic protection in the case of high intensity field, the out-band filtering and the in-band limiting strategy is implemented through cascaded design with energy-frequency selective surfaces. To verify the method, a typical protection structure is designed. Using the finite different time domain method, both the steady state and transient state are simulated. The coupling effect between the energy selective surface and frequency selective surface are analyzed. The results show that when a wave with low field intensity impinges, the insertion loss is reduced below 1.55 dB; when the high intensity field radiates, the transmission loss is reduced below 20 dB, which can protect the system against intense electromagnetic interference effectively.
